Dear brothers and sisters,
At St. Augustine Parish, we are blessed with a beautiful church and grounds that are home to our parish family, our school community, and all who come through our doors. Caring for these spaces is part of our responsibility as a parish, and we continually look for ways to make them safer, more welcoming, and more accessible to everyone.
Over time, the front steps of the church have begun to sink and are now in need of repair. In addition, the step from the landing into the church can be difficult to navigate and may present a safety concern for parishioners, students, and guests. Although the step has been marked with yellow paint, we recognize that once people reach the landing, they naturally expect to be able to enter the church directly.
For this reason, St. Augustine Parish is beginning a new improvement project at the front entrance of the church. In partnership with Fox & Fox Architects, and with the leadership of Bill Callaghan and Henry Bros. Construction, we will be installing a new concrete entrance that will be level with the church floor, along with a new accessible ramp from the Keeler Avenue side of the church.
These improvements will make our front entrance safer and easier to navigate, helping ensure that everyone who comes to St. Augustine to worship, learn, celebrate, and pray can enter our church with greater comfort and dignity.
We are grateful for your patience and understanding during this approximately two-to-three-week project. Construction will begin with the closure of the northwest door while the ramp is being built. Later, the entire front entrance will need to be temporarily closed while the new landing and stairs are installed.
During construction, we kindly ask parishioners, students, and visitors to use the West (accessible) entrance or the East (Mary’s Garden) entrance whenever possible.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we care for and improve our parish home. These improvements are an investment not only in our buildings, but in the people who gather here each week. We look forward to welcoming everyone through this renewed entrance for many years to come.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
