Fr. Robinson's Message 3/1/26

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This coming weekend, the women of our parish are invited to participate in the Lenten retreat in English. It will be a beautiful opportunity to gather, reflect, and rest in Christ. I encourage you to register here and take advantage of this opportunity prepared by the members of the Women’s Welcome Ministry, in collaboration with Prayer and Life Workshops. We will have a Lenten retreat in Spanish at the end of the month, on Saturday, March 28. Please mark your calendars.

This week I will begin interviews with the young people who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. During our conversation, we will review their work from these past two years, the services they completed, and the chart of Masses they attended. I also hope they will share some of the experiences that impacted them most during their preparation. I am especially interested in hearing how the Holy Spirit has moved them during the sessions and what fruits He has stirred in their hearts. Please pray for these young people, who will soon reaffirm their faith in God before their families, friends, the bishop, and the entire community.

On Fridays during Lent, we pray the Stations of the Cross in the church. This is a beloved devotion in which we meditate on the fourteen stations connected to the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. This practice helps us deepen our relationship with the Lord, walking step by step with Him. I encourage all of us, as a community, to participate together. I am grateful to the different ministries that lead the Stations of the Cross each Friday. May God help us grow in understanding and become more aware of His presence in our lives.

As I announced during last weekend’s Masses, the DMI survey is now available. Please click here to access it. You can also click here to read my letter introducing the survey on February 22. I encourage you to participate, as the results will help strengthen our parish and better prepare us for the future. If you prefer a printed copy, you may pick one up after Mass. They will be located on the tables at the entrance of the church. To submit your completed survey, place it in the collection basket or bring it to the parish office. At St. Augustine Parish, we are blessed in many ways. Together, through the Disciple Maker Index survey, we will more clearly identify our strengths and areas of opportunity as we strive to grow as missionary disciples. We have already received more than 200 responses out of the 1,000 I hope to reach. A note for those who attended St. Stanislaus: when asked how many years you have been in the parish, please add the years you have been a parishioner even before 2022.Thank you for your participation and commitment!

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,

Este próximo fin de semana, las mujeres de nuestra parroquia están invitadas a participar en el retiro de Cuaresma en inglés. Será una hermosa oportunidad para reunirse, reflexionar y descansar en Cristo. Las animo a que se registren aquí y aprovechen esta oportunidad que han preparado los miembros del Ministerio de Mujeres de Bienvenida, en colaboración con Talleres de Oración y Vida. Tendremos un retiro cuaresmal en español a fin de mes, el sábado 28 de marzo. Guarden la fecha.

Esta semana comienzo las entrevistas con los jóvenes que se están preparando para el Sacramento de la Confirmación. Durante nuestro diálogo revisaremos sus trabajos de estos dos años, los servicios que realizaron y la lista de las Misas a las que asistieron. Espero también que puedan compartir algunas de las experiencias que más les llamaron la atención durante su preparación. Asimismo, me interesa saber cómo el Espíritu Santo los ha movido durante las sesiones y qué frutos ha ido suscitando en sus corazones. Les pido que recen por estos jóvenes, quienes pronto reafirmarán su fe en Dios ante sus familiares, amigos, el obispo y toda la comunidad.

Los viernes de Cuaresma rezamos el Santo Viacrucis en la iglesia. Se trata de una devoción muy querida, en la que meditamos las catorce estaciones relacionadas con la Pasión y Muerte de Jesucristo. Esta práctica nos ayuda a profundizar en nuestra relación con el Señor, caminando paso a paso con Él. Los animo a que, como comunidad, participemos juntos. Agradezco a los distintos ministerios que lideran el Viacrucis cada viernes. Que Dios nos ayude a crecer en entendimiento y a ser más conscientes de su presencia en nuestras vidas.

Como lo anuncié durante las Misas del fin de semana pasado, la encuesta DMI ya está disponible. Por favor, click here para responder la encuesta. Los animo a participar, ya que los resultados ayudarán a fortalecer nuestra parroquia y a prepararnos mejor para el futuro. Si prefiere una copia impresa, puede recogerla después de Misa. Estarán ubicadas en las mesas de la entrada de la iglesia. Para entregar la encuesta completada, colóquela en la canasta de la colecta o tráigala a la oficina parroquial. En la Parroquia San Agustín estamos bendecidos de muchas maneras. Juntos, a través de la encuesta Disciple Maker Index, identificaremos con mayor claridad nuestras fortalezas y áreas de oportunidad mientras nos esforzamos por crecer como discípulos misioneros. Ya hemos recibido más de 200 respuestas de las 1,000 que me gustaría alcanzar. Una nota para quienes asistían a San Estanislao: ante la pregunta de cuántos años ha estado en la parroquia, por favor añadir los años que han sido parroquianos incluso antes del 2022. ¡Gracias por su participación y compromiso!
