Fr. Robinson's Message 7/5/26

Dear brothers and sisters,

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, we give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings bestowed upon our nation throughout these two and a half centuries. We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy, for the countless men and women who have served and sacrificed for the common good, and for the opportunities we have received as a people.

As Catholics, patriotism is expressed not only through celebration but also through prayer. Love of country calls us to pray for our leaders, our communities, and all who call this nation home. We invite all parishioners to offer the prayer found below, asking the Lord to guide our nation in wisdom, justice, peace, and respect for the dignity of every human person.

On June 11, our parish joined Catholics throughout the country in prayer during a special Holy Hour on the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Despite severe storms that evening, many parishioners gathered in church for this beautiful hour of grace. Together we reflected on meditations centered on the love of Christ, prayed in silence before the Blessed Sacrament, and lifted our voices in sacred music.

The Holy Hour concluded with the Litany of the Sacred Heart, the Prayer of Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament. It was a powerful reminder that our hope is found not in earthly strength alone but in the merciful Heart of Christ, who calls us to trust in Him.

As we mark this historic anniversary, may we continue to walk together as one nation under God, seeking His guidance and striving to be faithful disciples in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities. Let us cultivate grateful hearts, remembering the blessings we have received and recommitting ourselves to building a society rooted in truth, charity, justice, and peace.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless our parish, our families, and the United States of America.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: You know the longings of our hearts, and you desire that we enjoy friendship with you. From your pierced side, you have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst. Your heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with you. We celebrate the abundant gifts you have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We make reparation for the offenses against you and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation. May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed. May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to your infinite love. O Desire of Nations and Center of History, we ask you to bless these United States of America. Who live and reign with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

 Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

Al celebrar el 250.º aniversario de los Estados Unidos de América, damos gracias a Dios Todopoderoso por las innumerables bendiciones que ha derramado sobre nuestra nación a lo largo de estos dos siglos y medio. Agradecemos las libertades que disfrutamos, el sacrificio de tantos hombres y mujeres que han servido al bien común y las oportunidades que hemos recibido como pueblo.

Como católicos, nuestro amor por la patria se expresa no solo mediante celebraciones, sino también mediante la oración. Amar a nuestro país significa pedir al Señor que bendiga a nuestros líderes, fortalezca nuestras comunidades y guíe a todos los que llaman a esta nación su hogar. Invitamos a todos los feligreses a rezar la oración que encontrarán a continuación, pidiendo que Dios conceda a nuestro país sabiduría, justicia, paz y un profundo respeto por la dignidad de toda persona humana.

El pasado 11 de junio, nuestra parroquia se unió a católicos de todo el país en una Hora Santa con motivo de la Consagración de los Estados Unidos al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. A pesar de las fuertes tormentas de aquella noche, muchos feligreses acudieron para participar en este hermoso momento de gracia. Durante una hora compartimos meditaciones centradas en el amor de Cristo, momentos de silencio ante el Santísimo Sacramento y cantos que elevaron nuestros corazones a Dios.

La Hora Santa concluyó con las Letanías del Sagrado Corazón, la Oración de Consagración de los Estados Unidos al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y la Bendición con el Santísimo Sacramento. Fue un recordatorio poderoso de que nuestra esperanza no descansa únicamente en las fuerzas humanas, sino en el Corazón misericordioso de Cristo, que nos invita a confiar plenamente en Él.

Al conmemorar este aniversario histórico, sigamos caminando juntos como una nación bajo la protección de Dios, buscando siempre su guía y procurando vivir como discípulos fieles en nuestros hogares, lugares de trabajo, escuelas y comunidades. Que tengamos corazones agradecidos por los dones recibidos y renovemos nuestro compromiso de construir una sociedad fundada en la verdad, la caridad, la justicia y la paz.

Que el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús bendiga a nuestra parroquia, a nuestras familias y a los Estados Unidos de América.

Oración al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús

Sagrado Corazón de Jesús: Tú conoces los anhelos de nuestro corazón y deseas que disfrutemos de tu amistad. De tu costado traspasado has derramado el manantial de vida, del que tenemos sed. Tu corazón arde de amor para que todas las personas vuelvan a tener una relación correcta contigo. Celebramos los abundantes dones que has brindado a esta nación, fundada en las verdades evidentes que nuestro Creador ha dotado a todas las personas del derecho a la vida, a la libertad y a la búsqueda de la felicidad. Ofrecemos reparación por las ofensas contra ti y contra la dignidad humana ocurridas en esta nación. Que nuestros corazones se unan al tuyo, para que nuestras familias y comunidades gocen de paz y felicidad; que las relaciones dañadas se reconcilien, las injusticias se reparen y las heridas de nuestra tierra se sanen. Que tu santa Iglesia católica sirva de signo, mostrando a todos tu amor infinito. A ti, que eres el Deseo de las Naciones y el Centro de la Historia, te pedimos que bendigas a estos Estados Unidos de América.
