Fr. Robinson's Message 8/10/25

Dear Brothers and Sisters, 

For a couple of weeks, we had the presence of the Siervas de Cristo Sacerdote (Servants of Christ the Priest), nuns serving in Colombia. They came to participate in the Missionary Cooperation Plan. The Archdiocese assigned them three parishes to present their work in Colombia. During this time, they stayed in our convent, led the Thursday Holy Hour, and were warmly welcomed, especially by the parishioners who attend daily Mass. They will depart on Tuesday, August 12. The photo on the cover of the bulletin shows Sister Ana Inés (the superior), Sister Mariela, and Sister Sandra.

I have known the Servants of Christ the Priest since my adolescence. When my family arrived in Bogotá, we were welcomed by the Sisters and welcomed into our neighborhood parish. I soon began serving as an altar server, and my family also joined in, helping out in the parish soup kitchen. For several years, I was close to the Sisters, accompanying them in the ministries they carried out in the parish and learning from them. They were the ones who taught me to pray the Liturgy of the Hours and many catechetical practices. Sister Mariela also gave me lunch on the condition that I would wash the dishes. They taught me discipline and hard work for the Church, alongside Father Pablo Tovar, our parish priest.

Today, the Sisters are dedicated to the accompaniment and ministry to women: girls, teenage mothers, young women with cognitive disabilities, and older adults, especially those who suffer from abandonment, mistreatment, abuse, and poverty. The Sisters have several support centers in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.

We thank the Servants of Christ the Priest for their visit and pray that the Lord may continue to multiply the fruits of the ministry they carry out for the good of women, the sanctification of priests, and the Church in general.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas, 

Por algunas semanas, hemos tenido la visita de las Siervas de Cristo Sacerdote, religiosas que prestan su servicio en Colombia. Ellas han venido para participar en el Plan de Cooperación Misionera. La Arquidiócesis les asignó tres parroquias para presentar sus obras en Colombia. Durante este tiempo se han quedado en nuestro convento, han dirigido la hora santa del jueves, y han sido acogidas de gran manera, especialmente por los parroquianos que asisten a la Misa diaria. Su partida será el martes 12 de agosto. En la foto de la portada del boletín aparecen Sor Ana Inés (la superiora), Sor Mariela, y Sor Sandra.

Conozco a las Siervas de Cristo Sacerdote desde mi adolescencia. Cuando mi familia llegó a Bogotá, fuimos recibidos por las Hermanas y acogidos en la parroquia de nuestro barrio. Pronto comencé a servir como monaguillo y mi familia también se vinculó ayudando en el comedor parroquial. Por varios años estuve cerca de las Hermanas, acompañándolas en los ministerios que desarrollaban en la parroquia y aprendiendo de ellas. Fueron ellas quienes me enseñaron a rezar la Liturgia de las Horas y muchas prácticas de catequesis. También Sor Mariela me daba almuerzo con la condición de que yo debía lavar los platos. Me enseñaron disciplina y trabajo fuerte por la iglesia, junto al Padre Pablo Tovar. Nuestro párroco.

Las Hermanas hoy en día se dedican al acompañamiento y ministerio a las mujeres: niñas, madres adolescentes, jóvenes con discapacidad cognitiva y adultas mayores, especialmente aquellas que sufren a causa del abandono, el maltrato, los abusos y la pobreza. Las Hermanas tienen varios centros de apoyo en Colombia, Perú y Ecuador.

Le agradecemos a las Siervas de Cristo Sacerdote por su visita y oramos para que el Señor siga multiplicando los frutos del ministerio que realizan por el bien de las mujeres, la santificación de los sacerdotes, y la Iglesia en general.
